Tjitske zal achter blijven met twee jongens. Deze moedige vrouw, die al vroeg met de ziekte MS te kampen had, richt haar woorden aan haar man en schrijft over haar intense verdriet en machteloosheid. Het is niet alleen een aangrijpend maar ook zeer bijzonder egodocument geworden van een vrouw die tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog aan den lijve ondervond hoe haar man door de Duitsers van zijn bed werd gelicht en mee werd genomen en die nooit heeft geweten hoe hij aan zijn einde kwam en waar hij begraven lag.<\/p>\n<p>Met een korte biografie van Roel T. van der Heide die ook de biografie van Jan Eisenga verzorgde: <em>Een vrije geest tot zwijgen gebracht.<\/em> Met een voorwoord van Truus de Witte. Ze verrichtte onderzoek naar vermisten en schreef de dissertatie <em>Op een onbekende plaats begraven.
